Irish-American fine artist Eugene Clark is commissioned by Marshall Place Association, Ferndale, MI, to create a site-specific 2500 sq ft mural painting. The large-scale public art mural is titled "The Anatomy of Humanity", and is a convergence of the concepts of COMMUNITY and DIVERSITY, and the anatomy of one shared humanity. "I am excited to bring this work to the Ferndale community", says Clark. The colorful mural defines both community and diversity, while maintaining his abstract expressionist style, with a post-modern twist. "Having a public art mural on a commercial building, within a neighborhood, is a first for the City of Ferndale", says city building inspector Adam Loomis. The Marshall Place Association hired Clark to create the dynamic design on a large two story wall, located on the side of one of their buildings. "This is a great opportunity. Ferndale is a perfect place for the concept of the mural", Clark says. The mural was painted over a seven day period, and the artist had to utilize a scissor lift to access the top aspects of the painting. "I am excited to see what it looks like when completed", says Loomis. The mural painting is located at 455 Marshall St., Ferndale, MI. Contact the artist with questions at
